name:Lupine Hart age:63, appears 26 gender:Male position: Teacher species:Werewolf height:5 feet, 11 inches weight:163 lbs brief physical description:Lupine has dark brown hair, dark brown hair, and pale skin. His hair is cut relatively short, not growing past his ears. He keeps his face clean-shaven and is always seen wearing a business suit. He wears black trousers, a black blazer, a pristine white dress shirt, and a blue skinny tie almost all the time. He has a wiry frame and stays in shape by transforming into a wolf and running around the grounds all night. Although he's 63 and ought to look like an old man Lupine has remained the same physical age since the day he was bitten and became a werewolf. On days close to the full moon Lupine has a fluffy black tail that sticks out of the back of his pants and big furry triangular ears perched on the top of his head. When he transforms he turns fully into a big black wolf with brown eyes. Beneath Lupine's ironed clothing there are many scars. The bite marks on his shoulder mark the place where the werewolf curse infected him; the slashes across his stomach represent the reason he came to St. Jude's in the first place. summary of personality:Lupine is essentially a good and kind person, but he is also eccentric. He gets embarrassed very easily and is sensitive to the things other people say, quickly offended and even more quickly humiliated. Lupine considers himself wise and experienced; he is not unintelligent, but he is prone to being silly and he is often gullible. Somewhat naive, Lupine is the kind of person who is easily convinced to believe stupid things and easily scared by ghost stories. However, he is also surprisingly good at giving advice if you can corner him on his own without mortifying him. Lupine is very careful to never let anyone in the whole world see him in his wolf form, which he finds shameful. He is also terrible at enforcing rules and being strict, which means that many students see him as a total push-over. points of historical significance:Up to the age of 26, Lupine's life was excruciatingly boring. He had grown up quite normally, attending university straight out of high school. He and his parents paid for it jointly, he by getting various jobs throughout the years he spent studying to get his bachelor's degree, master's degree, and finally his PhD in linguistics. He speaks English, French, Spanish, German, Russian, Japanese and Mandarin Chinese.
It was shortly after his graduation ceremony, when he was taking a Summer off of work before he finally started his official life as a worker instead of a student. He took a vacation in England to see the sights, and while at a beach wandered a little too far from other human beings. In a cove surrounded by craggy rocks Lupine came across a man huddled in on himself and dressed in rags. Too trusting, and worried about the man's well-being, Lupine approached and asked if the man needed help. Long story short, the guy in rags turned out to be a werewolf and sank his teeth pretty deep into Lupine's shoulder.
Although things were very confusing at first, what with the cravings to eat raw creatures and eviscerate small children, Lupine rapidly adapted to his situation. He decided to continue with his work, and became a translator for an important government branch. Everything was going peachy until Lupine received his first lesson on werewolf social rules. His own "sire" had been too mentally unstable to teach Lupune anything, so he had received no instruction on things like trespassing on someone else's territory, or pack dynamics. On a visit to a foreign country, Lupine's work happened to take him into the home of a large and powerful pack of werewolves. They would not accept ignorance as an excuse for his transgression, and attacked.
Lupine was taken to the hospital and fully recovered from his wounds, other than the scars, but he now feared attack. After a few months of cringing at every noise and never walking alone at night, Lupine resigned himself to life as a recluse. From the age of 38 to the age of 56 Lupine spent his time indoors, only going outside to get groceries. He made money by translating web pages and passed most of his time watching TV, learning to cook, knitting, reading, writing, and watching fitness DVDs while trying to follow along with as much grace as Denise Austin.
It was when he was 56 that he learned about St. Jude's Academy, and he traveled to visit it immediately. After speaking to the other members of staff Lupine made the official decision to live at the academy and spend his days mentoring delinquent children.
